I met Ellyse and Eric in Rocky Mountain National Park in February. 7,800 feet in the middle of winter….
But it’s Colorado you guys! I promise you, typically the sun shines, we wear cozy scarves and beanies and all is fine.
On this particular day, all was not “fine” though. The wind HOWLED. I’ve never known why they use that verb “howled” to describe wind but I know understand 100%. I got out of my car to assess the situation and nearly got knocked over trying to close the door. Walking five feet was almost impossible. It was a wall of wind!
I jumped into Eric and Ellyse’s car and gave them the lowdown. I knew we could get some epic photos if they could be troopers. They became some of my favorite people in the next few minutes and agreed to tough it out (although that’s an understatement). Someone give this couple an award! They need an award!
The resulting photos are some of my favorites and once we made it through the wall of wind we found the most peaceful and serene forest spot to finish out our session. The next day I woke up with wind burn but it was totally worth it.
