Are you engaged and looking for a pup-friendly location so your kiddo can tag along for the fun? National parks are out of the picture if you want Fido to tag along. There are strict rules around bringing four legged friends so be sure to scout out someplace outside of the parks. A fabulous place for Evergreen engagement photos is Old Squaw Pass Road.

Since Jennifer and Justin were set on fall colors for their engagement photos, this spot was the perfect setting for their fall date. The weather was crisp and cool and the trees were the perfect hint of yellow. This spot was also hidden from all the hustle and bustle you typically find in more well known “fall color” spots in Colorado.

Another thing to keep in mind if your heart is set on those vibrant fall yellows and oranges is timing. The fall season in Colorado is unpredictable and can be short. Be sure you watch closely to see what’s happening in different areas. My favorite resource is Leaf Peepers which tracks all the local areas for changing colors. 2018 Colorado colors changed unexpectedly early. Most of my engagement and family sessions that were set on all the fall hues had to be switched around at the last minute. Be ready to be flexible!

The Couple

When I chatted with Jennifer a few weeks before their engagement session she sheepishly asked me if their new puppy Lucy could tag along. I almost screamed into the phone from joy. Was that even a question?! I always get engaged couples questioning if they should bring along their pup. Hello! No questions at all! Our fur babies are our families. They are our babies! And when they are as cute as Lucy is, there is no way you can leave her at home. These three stole my heart and I can’t wait to see them for the big day next year!
