Just in case you didn’t get it before from the website name, I’m the woman behind the camera.

Walls are lonely without photos. Coffee tables are sad without photo albums. And your Christmas cards should not have everyone in matching reindeer sweaters (unless that’s your vibe, which is honestly pretty awesome). Let's do this memory-making thing!

It's me, Megan!

Estes Park, Colorado Elopement

2020 changed A LOT of plans, including Dan and Dace’s. With travels bans in place, Dace’s family was unable to travel in to be present at a wedding, so the two of them decided to elope among the gorgeous Colorado mountains. And I was lucky enough to be there to capture this Estes Park Colorado Elopement.

In 5 or 10 years when we all look back on the year 2020, I honestly wonder if we are going to remember what things were like before the “lost year”. As an elopement photographer here in Colorado, I’ve always loved those simple wedding ceremonies that centered around the couple and their marriage. No big party, nothing flashy or superficial. Just two people in love that want to spend the rest of their lives together.

Dan and Dace actually met at a bar halfway around the world and somehow ended up in Colorado to elope. Lucky for them, Colorado is a pretty rad place to elope. Their story may be a little untraditional but they embraced it and only felt right (especially with all the obstacles COVID threw their way in planning a wedding) to stick with all things untraditional and elope, just the two of them.

When they first stepped out of their car, I greeted them with a huge smile and I was immediately drawn to Dace’s wedding gown. Her puff sleeves were embroidered with the prettiest florals and she looked so simply gorgeous. They didn’t have many details but they did have the most perfect ring box with their initials (D&D) so I had to grab a quick capture of that before the ceremony started.

Although their ceremony was quick, it was not without great joy and a lot of laughs and smiles as we all took in the moments that had just happened. As they walked away from the very spot where they became one, Dan and Dace signed their marriage license and had to celebrate with a bottle of champagne, of course. I will NEVER say no to champagne!

Here are a handful of my favorite images from this sweet, sweet Estes Park Colorado elopement!

Megan is the best! Megan was hands down our best wedding vendor and we would hire her 1000 times over. Actually, I know we will when we need family photos! Megan is not only incredibly talented with photography but she really helps keep to the time line, which helped us a ton on the day of! From our crazy (blizzard) engagement shoot to a month after the wedding we have loved working with and talking with Megan! We couldn’t be more in love with our photos and are so thankful!! She captured everything we wanted and so much more, and we even have a photo of almost every guest!!

There were points during the ceremony that I think Megan duplicated herself to get every angle. My fiance and I were both uncomfortable in front of the camera and Megan was able to get us to relax and get plenty of authentic, candid and beautiful photos. There are so many that we love that we don't know how we will choose what to frame or include in our photo albums. Megan has a great approach to weddings, she provides just enough feedback to help you take the perfect photos while also staying in the background to allow you to enjoy each moment of your special day.

Megan was an absolute godsend from the beginning. Not only does she take amazing photos and has a very approachable price-- her personality is a total bonus! She lightened the mood when storm clouds rolled in ("It won't rain. It never rains. Those clouds are a joke, no way, not today!") and when our wedding shuttle brought guests to the wrong place- she kept us laughing and moving through the photo-ops efficiently. She was directive and efficient- both things you really NEED on your wedding day- while still being calm and positive. Megan's an absolute gem... we could not have asked for more in a wedding photographer and look forward to using her services for future events!
